Mientras algunos solo la utilizan en casos puntuales, durante 4 ó 5 horas al día; otros cirujanos la prescriben las 24 horas del día y por un tiempo que puede superar el mes. Esta banda solo debe utilizarse si lo prescribe el cirujano plástico y no porque otra mujer la haya utilizado. Su utilización incorrecta puede empeorar el resultado estético
